Data We Collect from Vendors

To facilitate your shop and comply with global financial laws, we collect:

  • Identity Data: Full name, date of birth, and government-issued ID (collected via Stripe for KYC verification).
  • Contact Data: Email address, business address, and phone number.
  • Financial Data: Bank account details and tax identification numbers (VAT/OSS/IOSS status).
  • Professional Data: Your artisan biography, workshop location, and portfolio images.
  • Technical Data: IP addresses, login logs, and dashboard activity via the Frontend Manager.

How We Use Your Data

We process your data under the legal bases of Contractual Necessity and Legal Obligation:

  • Marketplace Operations: Managing your listings, processing orders, and facilitating communication with buyers.
  • Financial Compliance: Verifying your identity via Stripe Connect to prevent money laundering and fraud.
  • Tax Reporting: Calculating and reporting VAT under EU OSS/IOSS regulations.
  • Marketing: Featuring your workshop and products in Rimindie newsletters and social media (based on the non-exclusive license granted in our T&Cs).

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not “sell” your data. We only share it with essential partners to keep your shop running:

  • Stripe Connect: Our payment processor. They hold your financial data securely to handle your 85% payouts.
  • Logistics Partners: If you use integrated shipping labels, your address is shared with the relevant courier (DHL, FedEx, etc.).
  • Tax Authorities: When required by law (e.g., DAC7 reporting or OSS filings), we share transaction data with the French tax administration (DGFIP).
  • Customers: To fulfill orders, your business name and return address are shared with the buyer.

International Data Transfers

While Rimindie is based in Lyon, France, we serve a global market. If you are a vendor outside the European Economic Area (EEA), or if you sell to a customer outside the EEA, your data may be transferred internationally. We ensure these transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards.

Data Retention

  • Active Accounts: We keep your data as long as your shop is active.
  • Legal Necessity: Upon closing your account, we are legally required to retain transaction records and tax data for 10 years to comply with French commercial and tax codes.

Your Rights (GDPR)

Under European law, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Correct any inaccurate information in your Vendor Dashboard.
  • Erasure: Request the deletion of your data (subject to our legal retention obligations).
  • Data Portability: Request your product data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Security Measures

We utilize industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) for all data transmitted through the Frontend Manager. Your financial sensitive data is “tokenized” by Stripe, meaning Rimindie staff never see or store your full bank account or credit card numbers on our local servers.
